About the Directorate
The Surgical/Maternity Directorate offers opportunities across multiple wards and units, including a 12-bed maternity ward with three labour suites and outpatient maternity care, Barker Ward (Surgical/Medical care with a dedicated Nurse Specials Unit), Endoscopy, Day of Surgical Admissions Unit and Day Surgery Unit, and a modern Perioperative Unit with four theatres. Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care across the surgical and maternity settings as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to patients.
- Contribute to a welcoming, collaborative team workplace and support growth and development.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency to be eligible for permanent appointment in the WA public sector; documentary evidence of entitlement to live and work in Australia for the contract period for fixed-term appointments.
- Completion of required nursing qualifications and current practicing registration.
- Criminal records screening and integrity checks as part of the appointment process; referees may be contacted regarding ethical behavior and integrity.
- Working With Children (WWC) Check required.
- Desire to work in one of the hospital’s wards/areas (emergency, acute care, surgery, rehabilitation, maternity) or across the hospital in the permanent pool.
