About the Role
The Customer Response Branch, Cemetery Services is responsible for working with our customers to achieve timely, customer focused service delivery, advice and advocacy in the areas of local laws, environment and health and legislative compliance.
Within the Branch, the Field Leader Cemetery is responsible for providing support to the Team Leader in Cemetery field operations and services across 18 Cemeteries within the Sunshine Coast region.
Key duties :
* Contribute to safe, customer focused cemetery operational services across the various Cemeteries in the Sunshine Coast region supporting operational activities
* Provide assistance to the Team Leader Cemeteries Operations in field supervision and specific tasks such as overseeing field work processes, performance, recognition and training/mentoring and including resolving operational problems and escalated matters.
* Assist with the evaluation and appropriate action/resolution of customer requests and other enquiries relating to field operations.
* Contribute to and provide assistance to the Team Leader in the development of the annual cemetery services maintenance and improvement work programs.
* Demonstrate positive leadership fostering a work culture in line with council’s values.
* Support the Team Leader in ensuring the daily activities and operations of the Cemeteries Operations Team meet the specific obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and the Environmental Protection Act 1994
About you
As a professional in this field, you will have demonstrated sound communication skills along with the ability to provide on-the-job training and mentoring as well as interpersonal skills that enable sensitive communication with Funeral Directors, grieving customers, stonemasons, ministers of religion, contractors and other Council departments
As a requirement of this role, you must possess a 30215 Qld – General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) – White Card as well as completed or ability to obtain a Certificate III in Cemetery and Crematorium Operations or other relevant certificate and relevant previous experience.
Additionally, to be successful in this role, you will possess a Certification and ability to operate required equipment and machinery including front end loader, forklift, excavator, chainsaw and blower vac.
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
