The Role
MSF Sugar is seeking a skilled and motivated Effet Operator / Evaporator Operator to join our team on a permanent full-time basis at the South Johnstone Mill, located just 15 minutes from Innisfail.
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, this position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the juice treatment, clarification, mud filtration and evaporation processes to support reliable mill production.
This role involves working in hot, humid and vibrating conditions. The position requires standing for extended periods, regularly climbing stairs, lifting and working in a noisy plant environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate the juice system including juice transfer, heating, liming and clarification
* Monitor and operate the mud filtration stage
* Operate and monitor evaporator systems
* Carry out chemical cleaning of evaporators as required
* Maintain accurate operational records and communicate with production teams
* Follow all safety procedures and site operational requirements
* Undertake training and skills development as needed for the position.
What We’re Looking For
* A current driver's licence is a mandatory requirement
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well in a team
* Basic computer skills to operate computer-based control systems
* Additional tickets such as Forklift (Code LF), Confined Space, Rigging, Dogger, Scaffolding (advantageous but not essential)
* Previous experience in the sugar industry (advantageous but not essential)
* Previous experience with operating plant or part of process (advantageous but not essential)
* Trade qualified - (advantageous but not essential)
