About the Project:
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) project involves constructing 10.5km of tunnels, connecting two separate tunnels with an open motorway. The goal is to deliver the final section of the North-South Corridor in South Australia by 2031.
This complex project comprises underground and surface works, including road construction, bridge building, services facilities, and mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
Your Role:
As a Tunnel Design Specialist, you will provide expertise in geotechnical analysis and design, ensuring successful tunnel construction and alignment with project objectives.
You will work closely with the team to prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for site investigations, stability assessments, and foundation designs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct detailed geotechnical analyses for tunnel stability, settlement, seepage, and foundation design
* Review and contribute to technical reports, drawings, and specifications for tunnel design
* Oversee site investigations and interpret field and laboratory test results
* Collaborate with the team to implement risk management strategies during tunnel construction
* Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline with 2-5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
* Expertise in onsite project management of subsurface investigations and groundwater assessments
* Proficient in logging and interpreting soil samples and conducting groundwater assessments
* Able to assess and review geotechnical design drawings and technical reports
* Knowledge of contamination assessment for soil and groundwater
