The Supply Chain Director builds, leads, and optimises the supply chain to support the transition from R&D to manufacturing. The role balances hands-on procurement activities with strategic supply chain leadership.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement supply chain strategy aligned with Hysata's growth and manufacturing plans;
* Establish and maintain strategic relationships with contract manufacturers, key material suppliers, and logistics partners;
* Report supply chain risks, issues, and opportunities to the Leadership Team;
* Lead vendor qualification, selection, and onboarding processes, ensuring quality, compliance, and risk management;
* Negotiate commercial agreements, supply contracts, and long-term strategic partnerships;
* Mature procurement policies, systems, and processes;
* Plan ongoing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) enhancements (Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations); and
* Ensure competitive, ethical, and transparent procurement practices.
* Oversee purchasing officer and day-to-day procurement activities to ensure continuity of supply;
* Manage supply planning and coordination with manufacturing, engineering, and finance; and
* Balance hands-on procurement with leadership, especially during high-demand or critical supplier negotiations;
* Identify and mitigate supply chain risks;
* Ensure suppliers meet HSSE, ESG, and ethical sourcing requirements; and
* Implement supply chain OKRs and continuously improve performance.
About You
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management or a related field; advanced degree preferred;
* Minimum 10 years' experience in supply chain management and/or operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role;
* Ability to lead and optimise supply chain operations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners;
* Proficiency in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (D365 F&O preferable) and data analysis tools;
* Ability to think strategically, identify and mitigate risks, and align the supply chain with the organisation's business objectives; and
* Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements in supply chain management.
