Indigenous Led Science Researcher
We are seeking an Indigenous Led Science Researcher to lead the establishment of new science directions for our organization. As a Research Scientist, you will collaborate with Traditional Owner and Indigenous organisations across northern Australia, foster best-practice co-design approaches and understand research impact.
About this Opportunity
This role presents an opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of new Indigenous led science directions. Your research will address Traditional Owner knowledge needs and incorporate Traditional Knowledge systems and Indigenous science approaches with other organisational science in a social-ecological framework.
You will support the professional development of Indigenous staff and collaborators, including through various programs such as internships, graduate schemes and academic supervision. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Indigenous science, social science, social ecological frameworks or natural resource management, including through Traditional practice. You will have demonstrated experience in co-designing and collaborating with First Nations Australians, experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods appropriate for Indigenous-western science integration and a commitment to applying relevant research codes of ethics.
