About the role
We have an opportunity for a Multicultural Community Liaison Officer (MCLO) to be part of our Cumberland Police Area Command. The Multicultural Community Liaison Officer is responsible for providing advice and support in the management of multicultural issues for NSWPF. They establish and maintain close personal rapport, implement strategies to engage and work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and influence responsive and sensitive service delivery to these communities.
Applicants must hold a current driver's licence with no traffic offences recorded on their driving history within the last six (6) months or NSW Police Force Bronze Certification.

A Working With Children Check (WWCC) is a prerequisite for this role.

* The applicant is responsible for applying for their own WWCC (an employer cannot apply on behalf of a worker) and if the outcome is a clearance, the Check is valid for five (5) years and may be used for any child-related work in NSW.

Target Question 1:

Supporting Police to deliver quality services that are responsive to the needs and expectations of the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities is paramount. Using examples from your own work experience, explain how you would work with communities from cultural and/or language backgrounds, especially those that might be resistant to working with police.

Target Question 2:

Demonstrate techniques you have used to build rapport and maintain close relationships with multiple stakeholders to address emerging issues within the CALD communities. Provide an example of an identified issue and resolution.

Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a rigorous National Police (criminal history) Check and obtain and maintain a Security Clearance as determined by the NSW Police Force.
