Lawyer up to Senior Associate (2 to 7 years PAE) - Public Law
We are seeking an experienced public sector lawyer with 2‑7 years post‑admission experience to join our growing Public Law practice in either Sydney or Melbourne.
About the Role
You will work on migration, merits review and administrative law matters across a range of Commonwealth Government agencies, and you will have expertise in freedom of information and privacy law. You will sit within our national Dispute Resolution section and collaborate with clients at all levels of government.
Responsibilities
* Represent clients in migration, merits review and administrative law matters.
* Provide legal advice and drafting on Commonwealth Government and state government matters.
* Co‑operate with partners and senior associates to deliver high‑quality services.
* Manage a busy workload with competing timelines and run matters confidently.
Qualifications
* Between 2 and 7 years of post‑admission experience working in or for the public sector.
* Experience working in or with the Department of Home Affairs on migration matters (essential).
* Strong desire to work on public sector matters and contribute to our Commonwealth government practice.
* Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills with outstanding attention to detail.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
