About the role
As Manager Regional for Destination NSW, you will play a central role in driving the growth and resilience of the regional visitor economy. Working in alignment with by the NSW Visitor Economy Strategy 2035, you will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of initiatives that strengthen regional tourism outcomes and industry capability.
A key responsibility of this role is leading the Business Events NSW program, including business development activity and delivery of its flagship initiatives. You will ensure the program is strategically positioned, industry-responsive, and effectively contributes to increased visitation and economic benefit for regional NSW.
You will also monitor and interpret trends across the wider regional visitor economy and the business events sector – identifying emerging opportunities, anticipating market shifts, and informing strategic decisions that help keep NSW ahead of the curve.
About you
You are an experienced leader with a demonstrated ability to deliver complex programs within tight timeframes. You bring strong criticalthinking capability and experience analysing complex information to develop practical, evidence based solutions.
You will excel in this role if you have:
* Proven experience managing or coordinating multi‑stream programs in a dynamic environment
* Strong skills in market intelligence, trend analysis and data interpretation
* A proactive, collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement
* The ability to anticipate industry developments and respond effectively to regulatory or market changes
* Experience in business development or partnership‑focused program delivery, ideally within tourism, events or related sectors
