Construction Estimator
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing project plans and specifications to accurately prepare estimates for materials, labor, and other project costs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
* Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
* Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to determine project requirements and constraints.
* Develop and maintain cost databases and historical cost data for future projects.
* Identify and mitigate potential risks that could affect project cost or schedule.
* Analyze project design changes and assess their impact on project budgets.
* Create detailed take-offs and measurements for estimating purposes.
* Assist with the preparation of bid proposals and participate in bid meetings.
* Monitor and track project costs against estimates throughout the project's life cycle.
* Prepare reports and updates for management on project estimates and financial status.
* Keep up-to-date with industry trends, construction materials, and pricing changes.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
* 5+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
* Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and processes.
* Proficient in construction estimating software, ProCore and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
* Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
* Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations within the construction industry.
