As an Assistant Director in Agriculture, Biosecurity and Invasive Species, you will work as part of a small team to develop and review ACT policies, strategies, plans and legislation that support agriculture, biosecurity and invasive species management in the ACT, including overseeing implementation of the Biosecurity Act 2023. You will also be involved in the development of whole-of-government policy advice for input to the Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and its subordinate committees including the Agriculture Senior Officials Committee (AGSOC) and relevant working groups and coordinating technical advice to the Chief Plant Protection Officer and the ACT executive member of the National Management Group (NMG) on biosecurity response decisions. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in biological, agricultural, natural resource and/or environmental science/policy, or related disciplines are highly desirable. Visa holders are eligible to apply for both permanent and temporary roles.
