Overview
The Visitor Experience Officer at Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA) supports front‐of‐house operations, including visitor experience, the bookshop, reception and volunteer programme. The role ensures a welcoming, informative, efficient experience for visitors, facilitates engagement with museum programmes, and supports the campus community.
Responsibilities
* Ensure a welcoming and informative experience for all visitors.
* Provide orientation and facilitate engagement with museum exhibitions and programmes.
* Perform administrative tasks: manage established processes, prepare front‐of‐house exhibition access and communication plans, maintain databases, record attendance.
* Develop surveys, generate reports, and support the scheduling of tours and school group visits.
* Welcome groups in an informed manner, contributing to MUMA's visitor engagement and education strategy.
Qualifications
* Diploma level qualification or equivalent work‐related experience, or a combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
* Experience in visitor services, hospitality, or educational roles is desirable.
* Strong communication, organisational and digital literacy skills.
