Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program (*see substitution below).
Current Surgical Technologist Certification is required within one year from graduation or if employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on or before July 1st, 2013, or if successfully completed a training program in the military or U.S. Public Health Service (per MA Senate Bill 2058, December 2012). Graduates without certification have one year from graduation to obtain it.
Preferred Experience
1 year experience as Surgical Technologist in an Operating Room or Ambulatory Surgery
Basic Life Support (BLS)
