Job Overview
The Australian Government is seeking a skilled Senior Data Analyst to lead the development of tourism and visitor economy policy.
As part of the Office of Tourism and the Visitor Economy, you will be responsible for processing, analyzing, reporting, and disseminating data related to tourism statistics. This includes managing large-scale survey questionnaire design and collection processes, working with 3rd party and big data sources, and communicating outputs clearly through written reports and data visualizations.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with teams. If you have experience in data analysis, programming languages such as SAS, R, or Python, and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading data processing, analysis, reporting, and dissemination activities
* Managing the development and maintenance of programs/code in languages such as SAS, R, or Python
* Working with 3rd party and big data sources, including leading development of innovative approaches to using data, exploration of different data sources, management and drawing of data and insights
* High-level analysis and reporting of tourism-related data, noting trends and insights
* Management and oversight of large-scale survey questionnaire design and collection processes
* Communicating outputs clearly and effectively through written reports to senior managers, publications, and via data visualizations
* Project management of TRA deliverables and publications
Requirements:
* Australian Citizenship
* Security Clearance (Baseline)
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience in data analysis, programming languages such as SAS, R, or Python
