Working across a diverse property portfolio (residential, commercial, and office buildings), you'll manage general maintenance, small projects, and property compliance with autonomy and trust.
This role suits someone who wants to stay on the tools—but also enjoys project planning, problem-solving, and dealing directly with people—not just working off someone else's clipboard. The position reports directly to the General Manager of a private family office and plays a vital role in maintaining property standards and the smooth operation of maintenance activities.
What You'll Do:
* Carry out hands-on maintenance across the private property portfolio.
* Lead small projects from scope to completion (estimating costs, managing budgets, sourcing materials).
* Ensure buildings meet safety standards—particularly smoke alarms, fire systems, and WHS compliance.
* Liaise with tenants, trusted contractors and internal stakeholders to get the job done smoothly with minimal disruption.
* Conduct regular inspections and keep maintenance schedules up to date.
Benefits
Job Security: Long-term position with a private family office—no short-term contracts.
Respected Skills: You're the go-to person for property maintenance—your experience is valued and relied on.
Professional Freedom: Make real decisions on how to get the job done—you're not just a number.
Quality work: Well-maintained properties, no corner-cutting, and support to do quality work.
Diverse Environment: Residential, commercial, and office settings—no two days are the same.
About You
You're an experienced and reliable tradesperson who takes pride in doing quality work and thinking ahead. You've likely got a background in carpentry, building or electrical and are looking for something more stable and rewarding than bouncing between job sites.
You'll need:
* A trade qualification (preferred) or equivalent experience in Carpentry, Building, or similar.
* A valid Driver's License and reliable late-model vehicle.
* Willingness to get First Aid and Boat Licenses (we'll support this).
* Ability to quote jobs, manage small budgets, and use basic digital tools (Excel, reporting, and maintenance software).
* Confidence with building plans, drawings, and Australian codes & WHS standards.
* Experience developing maintenance schedules and reporting on work progress.
* A friendly, professional manner—you'll be trusted to deal directly with stakeholders.
