Job Overview
We are seeking an immediate start for a qualified full-time Electronic Security Technician who is eager to learn and keep pace with the technological advancements in the industry. Joining our experienced team, you will have strong support in your role as a technician. Based in Mount Isa, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining, and commissioning high end security systems. With health and safety a priority, you will ensure all work is carried out in accordance with industry regulations and best practices, maintaining a safe environment for yourself, your colleagues, and clients.
Skills
* Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and repair skills
* Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting IP based security systems
* IT and network knowledge
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Adaptability to new technologies and industry advancements
* Ability to survey customer sites for quoting security systems
* Ability to complete work safely within timeframes, including documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks
* Excellent customer service skills
* Strong verbal and written communication
* Ability to train and mentor junior technicians
* Knowledge of integrated security solutions and remote monitoring technologies related to security systems
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications an advantage
Experience
* Installation, servicing, commissioning, and programming of Alarms, Access Control, and IP CCTV systems
* Experience with enterprise level security systems
* Hands on experience with structured and coaxial cabling, fibre optics, and wireless networking in security applications
* Exposure to large scale commercial and industrial security projects desirable
* Previous experience working in regional areas desirable
Qualifications
* Trade Qualification - Cert III in Security Equipment, Electronics or equivalent
* Security Provider Licence
* Open Cabling registration with endorsements
* Valid Driving Licence
* White Card (Construction Induction)
* EWP Competency desirable
* Working at Heights certification desirable
* Vendor certifications for major security brands (Gallagher, Tecom, Integriti)
