Mount Gibson’s flagship operation is the Koolan Island mine, located approximately 140km north of Derby in the Buccaneer Archipelago in the Kimberley. The mine is Australia’s highest-grade producer of direct-shipping grade hematite, with an average Ore Reserve grade of 65.5% Fe and a current mine life of +5 years.

About the role:
We are now seeking to employ an experienced Boilermaker at our Koolan Island Operation on a 7 Days On / 7 Nights On / 7 Day Off (12.5 - hour day) roster from Perth, Broome, or Derby.
Reporting directly to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor the primary focus of this role is to perform maintenance, general welding, bucket repairs, tray repairs, GET change outs on mobile, fixed mining equipment and monitoring wear for scheduling repairs or change outs of GET. A key part of the role is to constantly monitor and repair ground engaging equipment.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
* Trade certificate as a Boilermaker or equivalent
* Current HR Driver’s License.
* Minimum 2 years (post qualifying) experience in a similar position
* Experience on Cat, Komatsu, Hitachi, buckets and trays, or similar equipment.
* Proficient in welding techniques, fabrication, and sheet metal works
* LN25 Welders competency
* LN8 Welders competency
* Previous mining experience is desirable
* Parts interpretation experience
* Forklift competency, or the capability to obtain this competency
* Current Senior First Aid, or the capability to obtain this qualification
* Demonstrated compliance to company OHS
* Excellent communication skills, and the ability to carry out instructions with minimal Supervision
