This is a full-time labour hire contract position. About the Role As an EL1 level Assistant Director - Data and Reporting, you will lead a small team responsible for analytical work, data management, and reporting that underpins key economic and pricing policy. You will play a vital role in translating complex data into meaningful insights to support policy development, pricing reforms, and market monitoring. Your responsibilities will include: Leading data advisory, analysis, management, and reporting activities Designing, building, and deploying scalable data, statistical, and mathematical models Developing reporting and data visualisation strategies to inform policy and decision making Producing regular and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and market performance insights Identifying and sourcing external data for integration into models and analysis Building strong stakeholder relationships across internal and external groups Supporting data transformation initiatives and representing the agency in forums Benefits Daily rates are NEGOTIABLE - your proposed rate should reflect your skills and experience against the evaluation Criteria 12% superannuation to secure your future and support your retirement planning. You will also be a confident communicator, capable of presenting technical insights to non-technical audiences. Key requirements: Technical and analytical expertise in handling and analysing large datasets Proficiency in data manipulation and extraction from warehouses Advanced skills in statistical software (R, Python, SQL, SAS, Excel) Strong communication skills for conveying complex insights clearly Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Proven stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills Desirable: Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or related field Experience in mathematical/statistical modelling and forecasting Knowledge of machine/statistical learning techniques (e.g., regression, SVM, neural networks, classification trees) Experience leading analysis projects and small teams Please note you do need to be an AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN for this Federal Government role Positions close for submissions FRIDAY 29 th AUGUST 2025 COB.
