About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our Pre Contracts team to lead the development of competitive and high-quality tenders across water and wastewater infrastructure. You will manage the estimating process from initial review through to final submission, working closely with operational teams, subcontractors and suppliers to develop accurate, well supported estimates. You will contribute to tender reviews, prepare submission documentation, support contract handover and provide key insight to drive continuous improvement. This position is offered as a hybrid role, giving you flexibility while remaining closely connected to our collaborative team. Key responsibilities include Managing the full tender process from initial document review through to final submission for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Preparing detailed cost estimates including quantities, rates, allowances, risk considerations and supporting tender documentation. Developing construction methodologies and staging, and reviewing drawings and specifications to identify scope, risks, constraints and opportunities. Engaging subcontractors and suppliers and working with delivery teams to validate assumptions and confirm alignment with delivery capability. Contributing to tender reviews presenting key assumptions and commercial considerations, supporting contract handover and providing lessons learned to support continuous improvement. Maintaining accurate estimating records to ensure consistency, traceability and alignment with program requirements. Supporting the development of bid strategies by identifying value opportunities, delivery efficiencies and competitive advantages What You Will Bring to the Team
Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Experience as a Senior Estimator delivering estimates for major civil or water infrastructure projects within large contracting environments. Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documents and apply a solid understanding of construction requirements for pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities and associated civil works. Strong capability in first principles estimating supported by experience with Expert Estimation Genesis or similar estimating software. A well developed commercial and stakeholder skillset with the ability to assess risks, identify opportunities, collaborate with delivery teams and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
