About the Role
As our Operations Coordinator, you will sit at the centre of our operations and will be critical in ensuring that our QLD business is built on a foundation of excellence from day one.
In the early stages, it will be hands-on, varied, and fast-moving, requiring someone who can comfortably shift between priorities, operate independently, and bring structure to a growing operation.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will support the day-to-day coordination of traffic management activities while helping to establish systems, processes, and a culture of excellence that reflects the broader Retro Traffic business.
You will play a critical role in ensuring that as we grow, we do so with discipline, consistency, and a strong focus on quality and relationships.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Operational Coordination & Resourcing
* Coordinate daily allocations, rosters, and equipment to support seamless service delivery.
* Monitor job boards and workforce coverage across multiple projects.
* Proactively manage resourcing gaps and operational changes in real time.
* Support fleet and equipment readiness to ensure operational reliability.
* Ensure all project documentation and compliance requirements are in place ahead of delivery.
Administration & Systems
* Maintain accurate and disciplined use of operational systems (Traffio / Staffd).
* Manage shared communications and ensure information flow is clear and timely.
* Oversee records relating to workforce, training, and compliance.
Recruitment & Workforce Support
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and inductions in line with company standards.
* Coordinate client-specific compliance and site requirements.
* Maintain engagement with new starters to ensure strong early performance and alignment.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
* Support clear, proactive communication with clients and stakeholders.
* Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships.
* Represent Retro Traffic with professionalism and a strong focus on safety.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
* Uphold and enforce compliance across all operational activities.
* Support audits and maintain a high standard of data integrity.
* Identify process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.
About You
* Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency (We are not offering Sponsorship for this position).
* Proven experience within the traffic management industry.
* Strong operational understanding of rostering, resourcing, and compliance requirements.
* Systems-driven, with experience in platforms such as Traffio, Staffd or similar.
* Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
* Able to operate independently while maintaining alignment with broader business objectives.
* Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Professional, composed, and solutions focused.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build credibility and trust.

This is a full-time permanent position and will be based at our Luscombe Depot.
