The Role
In achieving the expected results, the MSCSPO Commercial Manager is to:
Act prudently, ethically and lawfully.
Act in accordance with Government, Defence and CASG policies and initiatives, including the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act), Public Service Act 1999, APS and Defence Values, applicable Work Health & Safety requirements, Legal Services Directions and the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
Act in the best interest of the Commonwealth, in a business-like manner and provide excellent stewardship of all project resources to maximise efficiency, effectiveness and value for money, constantly seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and to enhance CASG's future capacity.
Communicate effectively with line managers and Division Head, including consultation with them and taking appropriate direction from them.
Communicate effectively with CASG's Defence customers, supporting and other related elements of CASG, and Defence and industry partners.
Employ best practice project management in the execution of work, focusing on achieving outcomes, ensuring that decisions are made by appropriately qualified and experienced persons, and taking judicious risks
Provide clarity on roles & responsibilities.
Encourage transparency and truthfulness.
Encourage collaboration and communication.
About our Team
The Maritime & Strategic Communications System Program Office acquires, sustains, and evolves maritime communications capabilities on RAN platforms and facilities, and strategic capabilities within the Maritime and Joint capability domains.
Skills, experience, and attributes required:
Previous experience managing complex procurement.
Previous experience with tender evaluations.
Experience leading a team to deliver strategic capabilities.
Bring a sound commercial and business acumen.
