$140,000 – $160,000 per year plus Superannuation
This is one of Australia's largest and most recognisable ASX 100 listed businesses, with group turnover approaching $17 to $18 billion and operations spanning Australia, New Zealand and internationally. The business has grown aggressively through a deliberate acquisition strategy, most recently completing a major international acquisition that has firmly cemented its place in the ASX 100.
The finance function operates with the discipline and rigour of a true listed corporate. It is led by some of Queensland's most respected finance leaders, with a CFO who has been in seat for close to a decade and a team that has been carefully built and invested in over many years.
About the Role
This is a technically demanding Senior Financial Accountant role sitting within the group finance function, reporting into the GM Finance. You will be at the centre of the group's external reporting and consolidation process, working across a genuinely complex, multi-entity structure with international operations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparation of monthly, half-year and full-year consolidated financial statements in accordance with AASB and IFRS, supporting ASX disclosure obligations
* Group consolidation across Australian, New Zealand and international entities, including foreign currency translation and elimination journals
* Interpretation and application of complex accounting standards including business combinations, leases, hedge accounting, revenue and impairment
* Drafting of technical accounting position papers and memos on transactions, acquisitions and unusual items
* Supporting post-acquisition integration work including any future M&A activity
* Coordinating the external audit relationship across half-year reviews and full-year audits
* Partnering with the tax team on tax effect accounting and technical positions
* Driving process improvement across the close, consolidation and reporting cycle
* Contributing to the development of more junior members of the team
About You
To be considered for this role you will bring:
* Big 4 external audit training - this is a genuine requirement, not a preference
* Strong technical accounting skills across AASB and IFRS in a listed or complex commercial environment
* Experience with group consolidations and the discipline that comes with ASX reporting obligations
* Genuine leadership ambition - this team has a strong track record of promoting from within and we are looking for someone who wants that path
* CA or CPA qualified
