About the Role
Outback Connect Community Services (OCCS) is seeking dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team in Darwin and surrounding areas. This rewarding role focuses on supporting people with disabilities to live independently, engage in their communities, and achieve their personal goals under the NDIS framework.
You’ll work in a supportive environment that values respect, integrity, and inclusion, helping participants build life skills, maintain wellbeing, and enjoy greater connection to their community.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide personal care, daily living assistance, and household support.
* Encourage skill development and independence in everyday activities.
* Support participation in community, social, and recreational programs.
* Accurately complete shift notes, reports, and documentation.
* Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered approach in all support interactions.
Requirements
* Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services (or working towards).
* 2–3 years of experience in disability or community care.
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Ochre Card.
* Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
* Valid driver’s license.
* Flexible availability across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.
* Must demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and cultural awareness in all interactions.
Desirable
* Experience supporting individuals with complex needs or behavioral challenges.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Understanding of trauma-informed and person-centered care practices.
