About the Role
As Functions & Events Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating and delivering functions across the venue, ensuring a high standard of service and guest experience.
This role offers a great balance between planning, client communication, and on‐the‐ground delivery. You'll work closely with the broader team to ensure functions are well organised, smoothly executed, and consistently meet expectations.
This position suits someone who enjoys being involved across all stages of functions from preparation through to delivery and takes pride in creating well‐run, memorable experiences.
Flexibility is required across evenings, weekends, and public holidays in line with business and function demands. Our team is supported by a well‐structured and collaborative environment, with a strong focus on planning, communication, and maintaining a healthy work‐life balance.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and deliver functions from confirmation through to execution
* Liaise with clients to finalise event details and requirements
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and key stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful event delivery
* Oversee function setup, food and beverage service, AV, and suppliers
* Support and guide teams during function service
* Work closely with kitchen and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery
* Maintain high standards across all functions and guest experiences
About You
You are a hospitality professional with experience in functions, events, or venue operations, who enjoys working across both planning and delivery.
You're organised, reliable, and confident working within a team to deliver high‐quality outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* Strong food and beverage knowledge
* Experience in functions, events, or hospitality environments
* Ability to communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, from clients through to senior management and operational teams
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Attention to detail and ability to plan ahead
* A positive, team‐focused approach
* Professional presentation and strong work ethic
* Ability to engage with a diverse and multicultural customer base; additional language skills will be highly regarded
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role (Functions Manager, Assistant Venue Manager, or Hospitality Operations Manager).
Experience in a high‐volume or premium hospitality venue highly regarded.
Current RSA Certificate.
