As Manager - Complex, Insolvency & Litigation, you will conduct and lead complex debt recovery actions, working closely with legal advisors and collections officers to achieve optimal debt collection outcomes and compliance with relevant legislation. You will be a primary contact for the Revenue Collections division and responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies, including providing advice to senior management, for managing complex and escalated debt collection matters.
The role is based in the Queensland Revenue Office's (QRO) Revenue Collections branch which is responsible for managing the collection and recovery of debts owed to the state government.
Your typical day as Manager - Complex, Insolvency & Litigation may include:
• Drive division functions by leading and managing the Complex, Insolvency and Litigation team.
• Conduct, lead and coordinate revenue recovery measures in matters of litigation and insolvency.
• Strategically plan, brief and give advice to senior executive leaders on recovery measures based on a risk based
• Consult with internal and external legal and insolvency advisors.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
• Experience in leading teams within a complex debt management and legislative environment.
• High level of experience in managing (pre)-litigation in debt collection matters, including negotiating outcomes in mediations, preferably in a government or regulatory setting.
• High level of experience in statutory interpretation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
