The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Hand to join our team in Mitchell ACT. This is full time permanent role with early starts (7.30am), plenty of overtime available and a consistent roster.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily cleanliness and manual handling of the general yard.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Assessing incoming loads
* Inform and direct the public about appropriate areas to put items they\'re disposing
* Assist in manually sorting waste and waste dumped in incorrect areas
* Conduct regular litter picking/machinery cleaning
* Learn to identify higher value non-ferrous items for recovery
* Operating a forklift as required
* Performing additional yard duties as needed

What You\'ll Bring
* Previous labouring experience - in a similar role is an advantage.
* Valid driver\'s license
* Construction White Card
* Asbestos Awareness and Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention certificates
* Forklift license is desirable
