We have an exciting opportunity for a Safe Haven Assistant Program Manager to join our team.
Reporting to the Safe Haven Program Manager, the Safe Haven Assistant Program Manager will assist with overseeing the provision of high-level quality care and support to children / young people with complex needs living in the Glenhaven Family Care Safe Haven program and promote a nurturing and trusting environment that is conducive to therapeutic growth for children and staff.
This position is full time and based in our Head Office in Ulverstone, with some travel to our Launceston office but could be negotiated to be based in Launceston for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the panel that oversights inclusion and review of Safe Haven placements.
Together with the Safe Haven Program and Practice Managers, consult, develop and implement child specific programs bringing a trauma informed and therapeutic approach to Safe Haven to equip teams to best meet children and young peoples' developmental needs.
Engage in monthly care team meetings with Child Safety Services and other key stakeholders as required.
Responsible and accountable to ensure that therapeutic homes are created for children and young people that will best meet their needs on their healing journey.
Ensuring that consultation and oversight of the development of rosters align with the SCHADs award and rostering guidelines to provide 24/7 care to children and young people in Salaried Care Packages.
Assist the Program Manager in the preparation of Monthly Reports to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) regarding risk, participant wellbeing, staffing and general program summaries.
Collaborate with the Safe Haven Program and Practice Managers to source or provide Safe Haven staff with the continuity of training to enhance their understanding of Complex Childhood Trauma and Therapeutic Care.
Supporting Glenhaven's On-Call and Rostering team which includes being available out of hours at times when necessary to relevant managers, or the on-call team.
As the Safe Haven Assistant Program Manager, you will have:
A Diploma in Community Services.
Previous experience in a relevant industry, service or an equivalent level of expertise and experience to undertake the range of activities required.
Demonstrated experience in team leadership and management.
Familiarity with Child Safety Services and relevant statutory frameworks (e.g., Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act 1997; Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act 2023).
A caring nature, be patient, supportive, resilient, and passionate about people and your role.
A current (less than 12 months old) Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check or National Police Check or happy to submit to one.
A current Working with Vulnerable People (NDIS endorsed) card or the ability to acquire.
A current full Australian Driver's licence (minimum P2s) is essential.
