Galambila Aboriginal Health Service delivers culturally safe, holistic primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on Gumbaynggirr Country. Established in 1998, Galambila has grown into a large multidisciplinary service supporting the health and wellbeing of the local community. Services include general medical care, chronic disease management, mental health, allied health, dental, maternal and child health, youth health and a range of outreach and community programs. All programs are delivered in a culturally informed, welcoming and community-driven way.

Purpose of Position
The Family Support Worker (Child) provides culturally safe, strengths-based, practical support to Aboriginal children (approximately 0–12 years) and their families. The role focuses on early intervention, wellbeing support, family capability building, parent engagement, practical assistance and coordinated support to strengthen family functioning and children's developmental, social and emotional wellbeing.
The Family Support Worker (Child) works as part of the multidisciplinary Child, Youth & Family Health (CYF) team, supporting Psychologists, Social Workers, Registered Nurses and Aboriginal Health Workers to deliver holistic, culturally grounded support to young people.
The Family Support Worker (Child):
* Provides family-centred, practical and strengths-based support that enhances children's wellbeing, development, daily functioning and safety.
* Supports parents and caregivers to build confidence, routines, skills and positive family relationships.
* Identifies emerging concerns for children, responding early and escalating concerns appropriately to CYF clinical staff.
* Assists families to access services, including health, early childhood, family support, parenting programs and community activities.
* Maintains accurate documentation and contributes to reporting, supporting quality improvement and accountability.
* Advocate for children and families, helping them understand information, navigate services, attend appointments and access supports.
Essential:
* Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services, Early Childhood, Family Support, Youth.
* Experience working with children and families in wellbeing, support or community settings.
* Understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice and culturally safe support.
* Strong engagement, communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to identify concerns, set boundaries and escalate risk appropriately.
* Experience delivering early childhood programs, playgroups or family support services.
* Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Current NSW Driver's Licence, WWCC and National Criminal History Check.

* Aboriginality.
* Experience in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation.
* Knowledge of local child and family services, cultural protocols and Goori community networks.
