A career as a Plant Mechanic Apprentice at a busy open-cut mine awaits.
Over a four-year period, you will be mentored by qualified tradespeople to gain mechanical knowledge and skills within the mining industry.
You will be working on a variety of equipment including dump trucks, dozers, water carts and excavators, performing maintenance, inspections, repairs, and servicing works, and fuelling of mobile and fixed plant machinery.
Your involvement in the maintenance team will include efficient and continuous operation of all assets on a 24 hour, 7-day site.
At the completion of the apprenticeship, you will become a qualified Mobile Plant Mechanic and earn a nationally accredited qualification.
To be successful in this role, you must possess strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, be able to work independently as well as contribute to a team, and take pride in the quality of your work.
Applicants with a Certificate II level pre-vocational qualification in the automotive/mechanical field or related work experience will be highly regarded.
The ideal candidate will reside in the Muswellbrook, Scone and Denman LGAs, have a current driver's licence or learner's permit, access to reliable transport, and a minimum of Year 10 completion.

All apprentices undergo a six-month Mining Skills Program to develop valuable technical skills, including welding, electrical, automotive, financial awareness, health and nutrition, personal fitness, communication skills, and road safety awareness.
