About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Paint Sales Assistant to join our team at our Port Lincoln store. This can be full-time or part-time providing excellent customer service and product knowledge to support our customers' projects. You will play a key role in ensuring that our customers have a positive experience and leave with the right products and advice to complete their projects successfully.
What you'll be doing
* Providing exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner
* Demonstrating strong product knowledge to help customers select the right paints, equipment and accessories for their needs
* Learning all aspects of products sold at this store, which include Marine, Architectural, Industrial and Automotive coatings. This does require a "want to learn" attitude.
* Maintaining stock levels and ensuring the store is well-presented and organised
* Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently
* Participating in stock takes and inventory management tasks
* Supporting the store manager with general administrative duties as required
What we're looking for
* Proven experience in a customer-facing retail or sales role, preferably within the paints or hardware industry or the desire to learn.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers
* Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail for accurate stock management and sales processing
* A keen interest in home improvement and a passion for helping customers achieve their DIY goals
* A positive, enthusiastic and adaptable attitude, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Relevant qualifications in painting, decorating or retail would be highly regarded but not essential
