ABOUT THE POSITION
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Geotechnical Engineer who enjoys both technical problem-solving and growing client relationships. This senior role plays a critical part in shaping business strategy, expanding market presence, and supporting ongoing growth, while remaining closely involved in high-level technical delivery. You'll partner with senior leadership to identify opportunities, develop client strategies, and represent the business in the market, while providing technical oversight and mentorship across key projects.
DUTIES
* Drive business development initiatives across geotechnical and environmental services
* Identify and pursue new opportunities through client engagement, tenders, and networking
* Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, contractors, consultants, and government bodies
* Lead proposal development including scope definition, pricing, and commercial discussions
* Provide senior technical input and oversight to ensure high-quality project outcomes
* Work collaboratively with teams across the business to align growth and marketing strategies
* Mentor and guide engineers, fostering technical excellence and strong client service
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Degree-qualified in Civil, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline
* CPEng or equivalent professional accreditation (highly regarded)
* Demonstrated success in business development within the Australian engineering consultancy market
* Strong technical expertise in areas such as site investigations, foundation systems, slope stability, and construction support
* Confident communicator with proven ability to build long-term client partnerships
* Experience leading proposals, negotiations, and multidisciplinary project teams
