What we are looking for ?
We are now seeking a Project Manager (PMe) to lead development activities in our Vehicle Engineering group within GTT Australia.
The main purpose of this position is to lead the Product Development activities for the complete project in the GTT Vehicle Engineering group in Australia.
The position is accountable to deliver a verified and validated product i.e. vehicle architecture, vehicle systems and functions (HW/SW), according to agreed product QDCF targets (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Features). The technical solutions should also be in line with approved cross-functional technology strategies and platform objectives.
With customer focus as a key driver, key challenges in the role will be to propose complete vehicle architecture solutions for proposed projects for decision. Once decided to then lead the engineering activities to deliver the decided technical solutions in an organised, efficient and proactive manner according to commitments. Coordination and utilization of our local and global engineering networks and competences will also be a key challenge for the role.
Your future team
The Vehicle Engineering organisation in Australia, which is part of the global Vehicle Engineering organisation, consists of a team of dedicated and multi-talented people with the key mission to provide market adapted, customized and niche vehicles to our customers in Australia and New Zealand. We also provide technical expertise to the Australian Production facility and Sales organisation to support the delivery, application and quality of our products in our customer’s business.
Our challenges include satisfying the needs of our customers while meeting the quality requirements, time to market, features and cost targets at a complete vehicle level. We are using specific global Vehicle Engineering processes, organisation and governance to secure short lead time to market and reduced development costs.
What do we need?
For success in this role you need:
1. Masters of Science Degree in Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering equivalent
2. 5+ years’ experience in automotive engineering development environment
3. Displays excellent planning, organisational and resource management skills
4. Good knowledge of general engineering development methods and systems, especially for heavy vehicles
5. Ability to work in a global engineering environment but maintain a local perspective to find the best vehicle solutions for the customer
6. Competent computer skills in Microsoft Project, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
7. Fluent in written and spoken English Communication and presentations
