* Role title: Administration Officer

* Role type: Max term, Part-time, 24hrs per week (25 March 2026 – 25 September 2026)

* Role grade: Administration Officer level 4, (Year 1-2)

* Department and location: Heart Lung, St Vincent's Hospital, Darlinghurst

* Salary: $75,176.80 – 76, pro-rata) + super+ salary packaging

About the role

* Welcome and guide patients, families, and visitors as the friendly first point of contact, helping them navigate the clinic and hospital services.

* Support with empathy by providing calm, compassionate assistance to patients and families, resolving issues with initiative and care.

* Own patient records by capturing, updating, and maintaining accurate information in both electronic and paper systems.

* Coordinate clinic operations by booking interpreters, liaising with departments, managing supplies and mail, and keeping clinical teams running smoothly.

* Champion compliance and safety by ensuring all processes meet health, safety, and legislative standards.

About you

* Hold a Certificate III in Health Administration or have equivalent healthcare administration experience.

* Thrive in a team environment, supporting a multi-disciplinary health team to deliver outstanding service.

* Confident communicator, able to engage courteously with patients, colleagues, and people from diverse backgrounds.

* Experienced in Health Information Systems, patient administration, Medicare billing, and common office software (Word, Excel, email, databases).

* Highly organised and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

About the hospital

In this role you will be based at St Vincent's hospital, Darlinghurst.

* A busy inner-city hospital in a beautiful location

* Closely partnered with universities & affiliated research institutes, many of which are located on-campus

* Centres of excellence include heart & lung transplantation, bone marrow transplantation, cardiology, cancer care, AIDS/HIV, respiratory medicine, mental health, homeless health, drug & alcohol services, and correctional health
