Temp Payroll Officer for government organisation on the south coast

This organisation falls within the government sector; they prioritise the community they serve and are undergoing various payroll projects. They are seeking a payroll officer on a contract basis for 6-12 months to support the team with payroll processing. This role can be full-time or part-time and perfect for those with a finance background who is wanting to move into payroll!
Your new role
Joining a small team, you will:
* Assist in processing end-to-end payroll for a high-volume workforce on a weekly basis, including onboarding, offboarding, terminations, redundancies and reporting
* Maintain employee data and records and ensure accuracy
* Interpret relevant Awards and ensure compliance with payroll legislation and legal requirements
* Respond to payroll queries and assist team with payroll-related issues
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience in finance or payroll
* Ability to work effectively in a team; collaboration is key!
* Great written and verbal communication skills
* Good eye for detail - able to analyse payroll data and ensure complete accuracy
