Job Title: Mental Health Clinician
Impactful Role in Trauma-Informed Care
This position offers a unique opportunity to provide compassionate care to individuals experiencing distress, while gaining significant experience and skills.
Key Features of the Job:
* Provide trauma-informed care in a supportive drop-in service environment
* Support participants facing complex challenges, including homelessness, trauma, mental health, substance use, and criminal justice system involvement
* Develop essential skills in crisis management, risk assessment, and case management support
* Collaborate with local referral services to ensure comprehensive support for participants
Work Environment and Requirements:
* Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:30pm, with dedicated debriefing time from 3:00pm to 3:30pm
* Primarily based in Murwillumbah, with flexibility to cover staff leave in other havens in Mullumbimby and Lismore
* Requirements include tertiary qualification in Counselling, Nursing, Social Work, or Psychology, and current registration with relevant Australian authorities
Selection Criteria:
1. Tertiary qualification at university level in Counselling, Nursing, Social Work, or Psychology, and current registration with relevant Australian authorities
2. Licence and checks: A current and valid Driver's Licence, satisfactory current Criminal Record Check, and Working with Children Check prior to commencement
3. Demonstrated experience in delivering mental health and/or suicide prevention support services in a community setting
4. Experience in undertaking risk assessments and managing crisis situations
5. Ability to provide counselling and support to individuals from a trauma-informed approach
6. Case management support for persons with complex support needs
7. Familiarity with a range of local referral services
