SRH Milk Haulage is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team at our Poowong depot. You'll be responsible for maintaining our fleet of milk tankers, ensuring they operate at the highest safety and efficiency standards.
This full-time, permanent role offers a flexible roster and includes rotating on-call weekend duties. We provide full fleet-specific training, giving you the tools to excel in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on milk tankers and associated equipment.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
* Work with BPW & Hendrickson axles and suspensions.
* Complete job cards accurately, including parts booking.
* Perform roadside breakdown repairs when required.
* Ensure compliance with NHVAS, workshop safety standards, and Australian Truck Safety Standards.
* Assist with general workshop duties and occasional tasks in the wash bay area.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Trade certification in diesel mechanics.
* Minimum car license (Heavy Vehicle License preferred).
* Experience with hydraulics, BPW EBS & ABS brake technologies (preferred but not essential).
* Ability to work to tight deadlines with reliability and a strong work ethic.
* Team-oriented, motivated, and able to work independently when needed.
* Physically fit and able to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
