The role
Cochlear is the global market leader in implant hearing solutions, dedicated to developing and manufacturing implantable hearing products that restore hearing for people worldwide. We are looking for a Manufacturing Trainer to enhance the skills and capabilities of the Sydney manufacturing team.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, organise and deliver one‐to‐one and group training sessions on core and manufacturing skills to production employees.
- Plan, organise and conduct skills assessments to determine the competency and proficiency of production staff.
- Train new production employees as part of the induction and onboarding program.
- Update, communicate and implement the training plan.
- Observe production employees regularly to ensure compliance with work instructions and production documentation.
- Provide input into the design of work instructions and related production documentation.
- Assist with the manufacturing of key training initiatives such as the Cochlear Manufacturing System (CMS).
- Review training and assessment effectiveness regularly and adjust as needed to meet business objectives.
Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or commitment to complete at senior level).
- Proven experience as an on‐the‐job trainer.
- Ability to quickly distil complex technical work instructions and deliver them to a diverse audience.
- Effective communication with senior and junior team members.
- Strong planning, prioritising and organisational skills with adherence to deadlines.
- Experience in PCB assembly or micro‐electronics manufacturing highly regarded.
- Working knowledge of LEAN systems preferred.
- Willingness to work at both Macquarie Park and Lane Cove sites across early and late shifts (6am–2pm or 2pm–10pm).
