The purpose of this role is to lead and manage the Mount Isa Laboratory, providing scientific, operational and strategic leadership to ensure the delivery of high‐quality, cost‐effective and client‐focused multidisciplinary pathology services for the North West Hospital and Health Service.
What you'll do
In this role you will lead a multidisciplinary pathology team across scientific and operational functions, provide advanced scientific oversight and clinical advice, manage laboratory budgets, staffing and resources, oversee quality and accreditation requirements, support workforce development and capability building, drive service improvement initiatives, provide high-level advice to stakeholders and health service partners, contribute to strategic planning activities, and ensure the ongoing delivery of safe, effective and efficient pathology services across the region.
About you
* Holds a relevant tertiary qualification in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent
* Has extensive experience within multidisciplinary pathology services
* Can provide advanced scientific leadership and clinical advice
* Has demonstrated experience leading teams, budgets and operational services
* Has strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills
* Can drive service improvement, quality outcomes and strategic initiatives within a complex healthcare environment
