You’ll be responsible for incident management, stakeholder communication, and end-to-end business support for critical systems and applications used by our Editorial, Production, and Development teams.WHY JOIN THE TEAMIf you're passionate about technology, thrive in a dynamic environment, and want to help shape the future of digital broadcasting, we’d love to hear from you.Your Key Responsibilities And ImpactMonitor and maintain a wide array of broadcast and production systems, using advanced tools to swiftly identify and resolve complex, service-impacting issues across multiple platforms.Lead the response to service disruptions, taking proactive steps to minimise impact and prevent recurrence, ensuring continuity of service for audiences worldwide.Log incidents with precision, capturing technical details and actions taken to support transparency, learning, and continuous improvement.Implement contingency plans during both planned and unexpected events, maintaining operational resilience and editorial output.Collaborate across time zones, ensuring seamless handovers and consistent communication between global teams.Stay informed and adaptable, responding to operational changes and aligning actions with BBC best practices and standards.Champion safety and compliance, upholding workplace legislation, completing risk assessments, and ensuring method statements meet BBC requirements — with occasional international travel, particularly across the Asia Pacific region.Essential CriteriaYOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEStrong technical foundation, with experience supporting complex, multi-component systems across a range of broadcast, production, and IT environments — including Windows, Mac, and IP networks.Operational awareness, with hands-on experience in monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving issues using a variety of diagnostic tools, while managing incidents in high-pressure, service-critical settings.Clear and confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners, and translate technical information for diverse audiences.Organised and adaptable, capable of prioritising tasks based on service impact, creating clear documentation, and contributing to a culture of shared knowledge and continuous improvement.Safety-conscious and compliant, with a sound understanding of health and safety legislation, risk management, and regulatory requirements relevant to IT and broadcast operations.Desired But Not RequiredProblem solving methodologies.Knowledge of ITIL support model.Experience in media and creative environments.Knowledge of best practice in IT security policies, standards and procedures.If you can bring some of these skills and experience, along with transferable strengths, we’d love to hear from you and encourage you to apply.DisclaimerThis job description is a written statement of the essential characteristics of the job, with its principal accountabilities, incorporating a note of the skills, knowledge and experience required for a satisfactory level of performance.
