Role Overview

The Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) is seeking a motivated individual to serve as a Project Officer for Multidisciplinary Teams. The role focuses on guiding and facilitating effective engagement with the allied health sector across the western NSW PHN region to strengthen multidisciplinary team-based care in primary health settings. The Project Officer will lead coordination, advocacy, education, and establishment of allied health partnerships with General Practices and ACCHOs, supporting the implementation of evidence-based care.

Guided by the 10-Year Primary Health Care Plan and the National PHN Allied Health in Primary Care Engagement Framework, the Project Officer will build relationships with clinicians, stakeholders and communities to identify key challenges and opportunities, leveraging digital health, continuous quality improvement activities, education and commissioning.


Responsibilities

* Develop and manage project timelines and deliverables.
* Facilitate engagement and partnership development with allied health professionals, General Practices and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.
* Advocate for evidence-based practices and support implementation of the National PHN frameworks.
* Provide education and training to allied health sector stakeholders on primary care integration.
* Track project outcomes, produce reports, and communicate findings to senior management and partner organisations.
* Coordinate with health services to promote digital health solutions and continuous quality improvement initiatives.


Selection Criteria


Essential

* Experience or knowledge of primary care settings (e.g., General Practice, Aboriginal health services, allied health services, community pharmacy, community health).
* Excellent interpersonal, written communication skills and ability to produce project reports, management briefings and project materials.
* Experience in project management and creating/managing project timelines.
* Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture and commitment to cultural awareness and safety.
* High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including proficiency with information communication technology.
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills, delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines.
* Capacity to travel within western NSW and hold a current driver's licence.


Desirable

* Experience working in health, NGO or community services sectors.
* Qualifications or experience in project management.
* Experience working with Aboriginal people, organisations and communities when planning and implementing services.
* Demonstrated partnership development experience.
