**About the Role**
We are seeking compassionate and experienced support workers with a strong background in mental health support, particularly for individuals living with **bipolar disorder and Schizophrenia.** This role involves working in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment in **Loganlea and Waterford**, providing person-centered care that promotes stability, independence, and overall well-being.
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Mental Health, Community Services, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- Experience supporting individuals with **bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or other mental health conditions** is highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of **mental health recovery frameworks** and the ability to implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies.
- Ability to provide emotional support, assist with medication prompts, and help manage mood fluctuations.
- Experience in **de-escalation techniques** and responding to mental health crises.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with families, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check required prior to commencement.
- Availability for **a minimum of 2-3 shifts per week, including nights and sleepover shifts**.
- Open driver's license and own transportation.
**Tasks & Responsibilities**
- Provide **structured, person-centred support** to individuals with **bipolar disorder and other mental health conditions**.
- Support participants in managing daily routines, emotional regulation, and community participation.
- Assist with personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks as required.
- Implement **mental health support plans** and follow Positive Behaviour Support strategies (PBS).
- Help manage triggers, support mood regulation, and encourage healthy coping mechanisms.
- Facilitate **social and community engagement** in safe, meaningful activities.
- Accurately document progress notes, incident reports, and daily records in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, and key stakeholders to ensure holistic care.
- Adhere to the **NDIS Code of Conduct** at all times.
