Overview

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 4, 2025.

Bluff Point Primary School (PS) is seeking a passionate and skilled Primary Teacher to join our dedicated team. We are committed to providing an inclusive, supportive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.

Bluff Point PS is located in the City of Greater Geraldton, approximately 420 kilometres north of Perth. The school celebrated its 100th Anniversary in October 2013. Moving to its current site in 1965, the school boasts magnificent ocean views from the playgrounds. Bluff Point Primary School currently hosts, on site, Visiting Teacher for the Deaf, School Psychologist, Chaplain and Child Dental Health Clinic. Bluff Point PS is a Level 5 school that has been successful in achieving Independent Public School status as of 2015. It is part of the Midwest Education Region. Current student enrolment figures are approximately 270 from Kindergarten to Year 6. With enrolments drawn from Aboriginal, non-aboriginal, migrant and non-English speaking backgrounds, we pride ourselves on our collaborative, multicultural and inclusive environment.

The Role

The successful applicant will ideally be skilled in delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum. They will also ideally be adept at designing and delivering personalised, adapted curricula to meet diverse learning needs. Experience across a wide range of educational settings, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Special Educational Needs (SEN), and experience in leading in areas such as Health and Wellbeing, Inclusion, and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) will be highly regarded.

We are looking for an educator who is able to work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external agencies to support student wellbeing and success. And an educator who works closely with families, staff, and external agencies to ensure students feel supported and achieve their potential. The successful applicant will ideally be creative and community-minded, with experience leading wellbeing initiatives, and extracurricular activities.

About You

We are looking for a teacher who ideally:

- Has experience across a range of educational settings, including with students with disabilities and additional learning needs.
- Has robust classroom management and the ability to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
- Brings leadership skills, with experience coordinating wellbeing, inclusion or special educational needs programs.
- Is an enthusiastic, positive collaborator and team player with the ability to inspire colleagues through training, coaching, and modelling best practice.
- Values community connections and is committed to working in partnership with families.

Mobility appointments

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers. Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role or transfer permanently into this school. Find out if you are eligible on IKON.

- Note that south west teachers are not eligible to move to another south west school under this trial.

- be an Australian or Current Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
