The purpose of the role is to manage a portfolio of high value/complex, sub-standard and impaired assets which have been identified as below average credit risk. This important role requires: Direct engagement with customers and their advisers, working with them in line with SBS’s agreed values and behaviours Leads engagement with Line 1 banking teams ensuring connectivity between SBS, bankers and customers, Drives process improvement through identifying and managing issues, and contributing to capability improvements for SBS resulting in efficiency gains and risk mitigation Constructively challenges approach to the customer, demonstrating sound judgement and thorough analysis, Builds the reputation of Westpac in the wider community through engaging early, providing consistent, timely responses and displaying strong risk management balanced with commerciality, Engages across SBS to ensure account management, governance, reporting and the risk profile of the customers in the portfolio is current and accurate at all times, Production of high-quality reports (mainly credit submissions and briefing papers) to the relevant Executive Manager, Head of SBS and other stakeholders as required, What do I need? Experienced background in corporate credit assessment & extensive direct customer engagement Financial analysis and financial modelling, with excellent business acumen Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good listener and able to impact outcomes through engagement and influence Strong working knowledge of loan and transactional products and associated systems (desirable) Excellent grasp of the capital impact of stressed/ impaired exposures and decisions resulting in a great customer and Bank outcomes Strong experience in loan structures, documentation and security Understanding of and interest in relevant industry issues Why join us?
