Join the Queensland Productivity Commission team as a Senior Economist to work on policy issues that matter. About Us
The Queensland Productivity Commission (the Commission) provides independent policy advice to the Queensland Government on economic, social and regulatory issues to improve productivity, economic growth and living standards in Queensland.
The Commission is an independent statutory body established under the Queensland Productivity Act 2025 and is governed by a Board comprising the Productivity Commissioner (Chair) and up to three other Commissioners.
The Commission Has Two Divisions
* Inquiry and Research: undertakes public inquiries into a wide range of economic, social and regulatory matters. The division also conducts and publishes research on key economic and social issues.
* Office of Best Practice Regulation: provides independent advice to government on the costs, benefits and risks of regulation and administers the Queensland Government's Better Regulation Policy and the Regulator Performance Framework.

You will research and analyse a broad range of complex policy and regulatory matters. You will also prepare and present high quality, influential and authoritative analytical documents and reports to support the Commission's work program.
What You Will Bring To The Role
We are seeking a proactive economist with an excellent background in economics, especially microeconomics, and experience in policy analysis and review. Skills in quantitative research, regulatory impact analysis, econometrics, law or other social sciences are also highly valued.
