About the RoleWe’re hiring a Senior Identity and Access Management Software Engineer (EL1 Equivalent) to lead the design, development, and enhancement of complex IAM systems using Microsoft technologies. This is a strategic, high-visibility role where you’ll collaborate with security architects, developers, and infrastructure teams to build and support identity services that are secure, scalable, and seamless.This role suits someone passionate about authentication, authorization, and access control in a hybrid cloud and on-prem environment. You’ll bring experience with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Active Directory, ADFS, and custom workflows built on .NET, and will help drive modern IAM practices across the agency.Your core focus will include:️ Designing and implementing enterprise IAM solutions with Microsoft Entra ID, AD, ADFS, and Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) Developing IAM components and workflows in .NET (C#, ASP.NET, OWIN), integrating authentication into enterprise systems Enabling secure access via SAML, OAuth2, OpenID Connect across apps and platforms Automating identity processes: provisioning, deprovisioning, access reviews, lifecycle workflows using PowerShell and Azure tools Working across hybrid environments, linking on-prem AD with cloud-native Entra ID via Azure AD Connect️ Troubleshooting and resolving complex IAM issues Mentoring junior engineers and leading technical delivery of IAM solutions Documenting standards, integrations, and runbooks to support sustainability and complianceWhile Canberra (ACT) is preferred, Brisbane (QLD) is also supported — and we’re encouraging applications from every Australian state and territory, including: All interstate candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis, especially those willing to meet the initial onboarding commitment.
