PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Provide strategic advice and influence on the ongoing development and reform of the Northern Territory Electricity Industry to relevant
government agencies, other Power and Water Corporation (PWC) business units, consultants and proponents as well as providing effective
leadership to the development and operational teams tasked with implementation and operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The "WHAT" to be delivered
* Manage the design and implementation of the integrated system planning process to define the requirements for energy and Essential System
Services for the regulated power systems in the Northern Territory as a basis for the centralised procurement process (referred to collectively
as the Regulated Electricity System and Investment Plan).
* Provide subject matter expertise for the design of Market Rules as part of the Territory Electricity
* Guide the planning and development of the regulatory design of the Northern Territory Electricity Market including the scheduling and
dispatch of energy and Essential System Services, implementation and compliance with relevant regulatory instruments applicable from time
to time.
* Provide or coordinate the provision of expert technical electrical engineering advice on the regulated electrical systems and the future
requirements to allow for the safe, secure, reliable and efficient operation of the power system.
* Research and the means to assist in compliance with regulatory obligations.
* Undertake reviews of relevant Technical Codes, Procedures and guidelines that apply to system control and amend as required in consultation
with relevant government agencies, industry participants and other electricity licence holders.
* Carry out duties in accordance with Power and Water's:
o safety and environmental policy;
o safety principles:

o human resource management processes.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualification and Skills Experience
Essential
• Significant power system operations and/or generation
• Work experience within the electricity industry.
operation experience in a market context.
• Competence in the use of Microsoft Office packages
* Demonstrated high level of ability to develop and
maintain policies, procedures and guidelines in
accordance with relevant National, Northern Territory
and NTEM legislation.
* Demonstrated highly developed written and oral
communication, interpersonal, negotiation and
mediation skills.
* Ability to lead and manage a multi-tasking small team
and participate in and influence Industry working
groups.
* Strong technical business and commercial acumen,
supported by conceptual, analytical and problem-solving
skills of a high order.
Desirable
• Degree in Engineering, Economics, Law or Information
• Leading and delivering complex projects and work
Technology. initiatives
* Competence in the use of Content Manager (TRIM) and
Maximo platforms or the demonstrated ability to
acquire such understanding quickly.
