Remuneration: Package valued at up to $182,461. Base salary ranges from $101,122 to $160,983, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation.
Overview
School counsellors are essential members of the School Counselling Service. They provide counselling and psychological assessment of students to support teachers and strengthen student learning and wellbeing outcomes. The role offers opportunities to work across the lifespan with primary and high school students and collaborate with school communities and outside agencies.
Responsibilities
* Provide individual counselling and psychological assessment to students.
* Complement and enhance teacher work to strengthen student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support students' mental health and learning needs.
* Participate in regular individual supervision with the Senior Psychologist and group peer supervision.
* Engage in continuing professional development and maintain registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Assist schools in implementing inclusive support for students with disabilities.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered psychologist or eligible to obtain registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Experience in counselling using evidence‐based interventions with children and young people.
* Experience in psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes of students from diverse backgrounds.
* Full approval to teach or eligibility to apply for a teaching approval under the Teachers Award.
* Willingness and ability to travel between worksites.
