We are a growing manufacturing and systems business moving from an informal, people-dependent way of working to a clear, role-driven operating model. This role is central to that shift.
We are looking for an Operations Manager who thrives on prioritisation, coordination, and keeping multiple work streams moving smoothly — without relying on long hours, heroics, or being on the tools.
-----------------------------------
About the Role
The Operations Manager owns the day-to-day coordination of production and delivery across the business.
This is a hands-off-the-tools role. Your value is in planning, prioritising, and decision-making — not fabrication, installation, or assembly work.
You will be responsible for:
* Setting daily and weekly production priorities
* Coordinating labour, materials, and schedules across multiple work streams
* Managing workflow across workshop, electronics, and field activities
* Removing bottlenecks before they become urgent problems
* Coordinating purchasing and availability of materials and components
* Scheduling delivery, installation, and servicing work
* Acting as the escalation point for operational issues
* Creating clear, repeatable operating rhythms
You will work closely with trades, technicians, suppliers, and leadership to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to standard.
-----------------------------------
The Environment
The business includes:
* Workshop-based fabrication (steel and related materials)
* Coordination of electronic component purchasing and assembly
* Delivery, installation, and servicing of CCTV systems
* Multiple trades and skill sets operating to different timelines
This role requires comfort managing complexity and competing priorities, not technical mastery of every task.
-----------------------------------
What This Role Is Not
* Not a welding or fabrication role
* Not a technician or installer role
* Not a "jump on the tools when it's busy" position
* Not a senior trade promotion
If you need to physically do the work to feel effective, this role will not suit you.
-----------------------------------
About You
This role will suit someone who:
* Is highly organised and calm under pressure
* Is strong at prioritisation and decision-making
* Is comfortable directing experienced tradespeople and technicians
* Can hold boundaries and say "no" when needed
* Thinks in systems rather than just tasks
* Enjoys coordinating people, materials, and timelines
* Wants to grow into senior operational leadership
You do not need to be the most technical person in the room.
You do need to be confident managing people who are.
-----------------------------------
Experience
Relevant experience may include:
* Operations or production coordination
* Manufacturing or workshop supervision
* Project or scheduling roles in trade or industrial environments
* Logistics, planning, or multi-stream coordination roles
Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or technical environments is beneficial, but strong organisational and people skills are essential.
-----------------------------------
What Success Looks Like
* Clear and stable production priorities
* Fewer last-minute crises
* Reduced reliance on individual heroics
* Smoother coordination between workshop, electronics, and field work
* Leadership no longer acting as the operational bottleneck
-----------------------------------
Why Join Us
This role exists because the business has grown and is deliberately building a more sustainable, professional operating model. You will have real responsibility, real authority, and the opportunity to shape how operations run as the business continues to scale.

How to Apply
Please apply with your resume and a brief cover note outlining:
* Why this role appeals to you
