We're looking for an experienced IT Manager to take ownership of our client's technology strategy, manage IT operations, and lead a small, high-performing team. This is a rare chance to combine your technical and leadership expertise with a role that truly makes a difference in a mid-sized Australian non-profit organisation. This is a full-time onsite role based out of the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.
As the embedded onsite IT Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our client's Data and Technology Strategy. You'll lead a small but high-performing IT team, manage IT operations, and oversee critical areas including governance, security, infrastructure, vendor partnerships, and project delivery.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on leadership and is motivated by the opportunity to use technology as a force for good in the non-profit sector.
Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and mentorship to the IT team, fostering collaboration and high performance.
* Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with organisational goals.
* Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, privacy, and security standards (e.g. COBIT, ITIL).
* Manage IT budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
* Oversee IT infrastructure, systems, and operations to ensure reliability and security.
* Lead IT projects from initiation to delivery, driving innovation and efficiency.
* Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
* Champion change management, ensuring smooth adoption of new technologies.
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
* Proven experience in IT leadership and operations, ideally in the non-profit sector.
* Strong knowledge of IT governance, compliance, and security frameworks.
* Demonstrated success in budgeting, project management, and vendor management.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
* Experience driving organisational change and implementing IT strategy.
* Current Australian driver's licence.
Desirable
* Experience with business continuity planning and disaster recovery.
* Ability to track and report IT performance metrics.
* Commitment to continuous learning and staying ahead of emerging technologies.
