A well-established organisation within the manufacturing sector is seeking a Human Resources Advisor to join its Australian operations. The business operates in a unionised environment and places strong emphasis on compliance, safety, employee engagement, and best-practice people management.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role provides varied HR and IR support to leaders and employees across the business. You will play a key role in employee relations, industrial compliance, recruitment, performance management, and HR projects, while maintaining a high level of discretion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide end-to-end HR advice across employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters, and grievance handling
* Deliver industrial relations support, ensuring compliance with awards, enterprise agreements, and employment legislation
* Support enterprise agreement activities and union engagement, including preparation of documentation and coordination
* Manage recruitment and onboarding processes, including contracts and compliance documentation
* Support remuneration, salary review processes, and liaise with payroll to ensure accurate employee data and payments
* Maintain accurate HR records and reporting, ensuring confidentiality and compliance
* Contribute to HR projects, WHS initiatives, and employee engagement and culture programs
About you
You are an experienced Human Resources Advisor with a solid background supporting leaders and employees across a broad range of generalist HR and industrial relations matters. You bring a practical, solutions-focused approach and are confident navigating sensitive employee relations issues, including performance management, grievances, and disciplinary processes. Experience working within a unionised, operational, or industrial environment will be highly regarded. You have a strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements, and are comfortable providing clear, compliant advice to stakeholders at all levels. You are well organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Importantly, you operate with a high level of discretion and professionalism, building trust through sound judgement, strong communication skills, and a collaborative working style.
